Another update from the Creston Fire Hall Advisory Select Committee. Last week the Committee decided to accept the 2018 Altus Canadian Construction Cost Guide as a financial baseline. It’s used as the Canadian real estate industry’s leading guide to development project costing. Ernie Polsom with Firewise Consulting says that means a project cost estimate in the high end range of $350 per square foot.
Polsom says the square footage needs have been identified as 14,000 square feet, but they haven’t started discussions on the fire hall’s design yet.

ASC Committee Member Don Cherkas also resigned from the committee last week saying they had not attempted to explore any other alternatives he felt would be more economical.
