Families calling Creston home have a chance to take advantage of the upcoming Bike Rodeo at the Creston and District Community Complex on May 4.
Children from ages two to 12 years old are welcome to enjoy an obstacle course, a draw for bikes and helmets, and much more.
Strong Start Coordinator Simone Stanley says there will be lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy.
“The police department will be there doing safety checks and making sure helmets are on properly making sure children understand the rules of the road. The fire department will be there helping out as well. And we have different agencies that will be volunteering their time and some great volunteers from the high school helping out as well.”
The Town of Creston funds Creston Valley Early Years to put on events like this for the community.
“What our job is to do is to put on events for the community and partner with other community members,” explained Stanley.
“Family-friendly events that they can come out and enjoy themselves. We can promote healthy living in our community.”
Stanley says everyone is welcome at the event.
“It’s a great opportunity to get out with the family. The Lions Club will be there selling hot dogs as well. It’s just an event that you know the kids can go out, and participate in the obstacle course. You can take a break, maybe have some lunch, and then go right back at it if they want. It’s a great time for family to kind of spend some time together.”
