Creston’s airport viability study is well underway, as councillors received an update on the report at this week’s council meeting.
According to Mayor DeBoon, the Town of Creston hasn’t had an airport master plan since 1979, and its high time to update the operations of the local asset.
“We have reviewed all the operations, we’ve really looked at the value of the airport and in doing so, with community input, we will be maximizing the use of our airport and letting people know exactly what our airport does for us.” said Mayor DeBoon.
“One of the main things is the air ambulance program, which is very important to Creston and the surrounding area. Moving forward, we will be looking at, again, all aspects of the operation of the airport, updating what our needs are and coming up with a plan for the future.”
Creston council anticipates the full report to be available March 2025.
