Creston Valley Fire Departments responded to a structure fire in the early hours of Thursday morning, February 27.
Just before 7am, crew were dispatched to the area of 36 St and Muzzy Rd where they found a camper adjacent to the garage on fire.
“The first arriving unit found the camper fully involved with occupants trying to extinguish the fire” said Fire Chief Jared Riel.
“The people were out of the camper and had neighbours trying to help”.
Two people were taken to hospital by ambulance for injuries and released the same day. The camper and contents sustained extensive damage and is a total loss.
Emergency Support Services were activated to help the occupants.
A total of 21 firefighters from Creston, West Creston, Canyon Lister, and Wynndel Lakeview responded to the fire, along with 11 pieces of fire apparatus.
The fire did spread to the garage with damage to the outside and smoke damage in the attic space.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
