Town of Creston will consider new fire hall

Creston Council is to explore replacing their ageing fire hall.

At a special meeting Tuesday, Council tentatively approved the budget item around hiring a consultant to do the preliminary work.

Mayor Ron Toyota says this is to cover costs for finding a location for a new fire hall as well as building design.

A total of $105,000 has been earmarked in the 2016 budget for this first step in a multi-year project.

Toyota says council is committed to building a fire hall that’s good for 50-years.
