Bleeding Tree International Dark Drama Film Festival

The Bleeding Tree Film Society, based in Creston, is please to announce a one-night-only showing of the top films that were screened at the Inaugural Bleeding Tree International Dark Drama Film Festival held this August in Cranbrook.

Six short films in all – including Best of Fest award winner The Bathtub (Spain), and Audience Choice winner Don’t tell Your Mom (Canada) – will be screened at The Tivoli Theatre October 28 starting at 7 pm.

Festival co-founder Mark Wolfe says they were blown away by the quality of the films submitted for showing, and that audiences in Cranbrook were deeply appreciative. He added that plans are already under way for a much expanded festival to be held in Creston next May, in partnership with The Tivoli theatre and Creston Hotel.

“Thanks to the stellar reviews of the festival by participating filmmakers this year, films for BT 2025 are already coming in and we expect a full weekend event in early May,” said Wolfe, adding that reputation is all in this industry, and that colleagues in Nelson, for example, are now taking Creston very seriously as an active film community.
